Testing: Lush Hot Oil Treatment

This weekend I tested Lush’s Hot Oil Treatment (damaged hair).

I recently ordered some Lush Shampoo bars, and decided to throw in a Hot Oil Treatment for funsies. I have used hot oil treatments in the past, to keep the winter dry frizzies away. My hair is fine, but it’s LONG.

Full disclosure–I didn’t realize I was ordering a single use treatment for $10.95. Imagine my surprise when it arrived! Next time, I’ll read more closely. Also, the plastic free design was appealing…so imagine my surprise when it came wrapped in plastic. SO MUCH SURPRISE.

The short explanation? You take the stick thingie–which resembles a cake pop–and put it in a cup of boiling water. It dissolves and mixes with the water, resembling melted butter a bit.

Once dissolved and cool enough to handle, you put this on your hair and let it set for 20 minutes. It’s messy, so you’ll want to do it in the bath. And 20 minutes is a perfect amount of time to call your legislators while you wait!

Results: Pretty rad. i can definitely tell a difference in my hair from using it. It took me about 45 minutes total to apply. The main draw back for me is the price, so I probably won’t make it a regular thing.

Until Next Time!
