Pretty sure this is all too fancy for me…

I was excited to try Trunk Club. Trunk Club uses both online styling profiles similar to other subscription boxes, but relies heavily on a real life human stylist (!). So at the start of this project, I knew two things. 1) This was going to be more human time invested than the other services 2) This wasn’t going to be cheap. After all, this is Nordstrom’s service.

The first step was to fill out a style profile, pricing preferences and provide my sizes.

Trunk Club’s process felt very similar to Stitch Fix’s in in this regard. And like Stitch Fix, it gives you opportunities to upload your Pintrest or other clothing style social media tools.

At this point my stylist reached out and consulted with me about what I was looking for in my wardrobe and what I liked and didn’t like. This part was a dream and my stylist was great.

After lots of discussion, she put together a Trunk that she sent to me to review.

I kicked out two items with details about why I didn’t like them/think they would work for me. You can request substitute items. For me, I just agreed to have the rest sent to me. Note: Your box will be huge. Be prepared.

The results: a box of stuff that felt like me! And the fit was spot on. There was one shirt that wasn’t a good length, and both shoes were too pointy to work for me. But overall, pretty good!

In closing, my experience with Trunk Club was great. Trunk Club had the most wearable clothes for me of any of the subscription boxes, both from a style and a fit perspective. Of this box, I ended up keeping the beautiful gray coat they sent me. I certainly could have kept more. My stylist did a great job and really did listen to me.

The downside? Be prepared to drop some money. There is no styling fee, and you only pay for what you keep. I would have love to have kept more items from my Trunk, but would have blown my clothing budget.
